As already announced in an earlier news ticket the preparations for the Global Retreading Conference on 29th May at The Tire Cologne are running at full speed. Now the speaker line-up of the event that is organised by Bipaver in cooperation with the Koelnmesse–Team has been finalised.
The European Commission (EC) has published on the 2nd February the regulation (EU) 2018/163 which demands a registration at customs starting 1st February 2018 for all imported truck and bus tyres (LI > 121) from China. The regulation can be downloaded in all EU languages.
At the end of November 2017 ARNEC, the Chilean Retreading Organisation, organised a two-day international Retreading Congress in Santiago de Chile. They did a fabulous job and set up a platform for the retreading and recycling industry, new tyre manufacturers, fleet owners and politicians.
As a consequence of the already launched Anti-Dumping Investigation the EC has now started the investigation about possible unfair subsidies granted to producers or exporters of new or retreaded TBR tyres in the People’s Republic of China. This kind of subsidies seem to be obvious taking into account that many of prices of these imports can barely cover the pure material costs.
The EC launched an Ex-post evaluation in regard to the introduction of the Tyre Labelling Scheme in line with the 1222/2009 EU. Many associations and organisations gave their feedback about the acceptance, advantages but also critics and proposed improvements of/to the actual labelling legislation. Also BIPAVER gave its feedback to the scheme, especially in regard to the role of retreaded tyres.
BIPAVER, the European retreading association, has now announced the launch of the “Global Retreading Conference” (GRC) on 29th May 2018 (from 09:30 am to 05:30 pm at the “Rheinsaal” in the Congress Center North) in cooperation with “The Tire Cologne”.
