To raise awareness for economic and ecological benefits but also the actual problems of the European retreading industry is a constant endeavour of retreaders and their national and international retreading associations. Especially in the actual context of the ongoing Anti-Dumping and Anti-Subsidy Investigations of the European Commission against cheap Chinese TBR imports a struggle that is more important than ever.

Following this intention German retreader RIGDON (from Günzburg/Swabia) invited the local politician Mr. Markus Ferber, president of the Christian-Social-Union of Swabia and Member of the European Parliament for an exchange and information meeting. The contact and meeting has been initialised by Günter Ihle, CEO of RIGDON and member of the Senate of Economy Europe visiting the European Parliament in Strasbourg and addressing the issue to Mr. Ferber.

Starting with a presentation about the company RIGDON and its history the exchange has also been backed up by an information about the general benefits of retreading as part of the Circular Economy and the negative development of the European and German Retreading Industry due to cheap and non-retreadable TBR imports from China presented by Yorick Lowin, MD of the German Association BRV and Michael Schwämmlein from BIPAVER.

After an intense discussion with Mr. Ferber appealing that our industry should receive more support and appreciation by national and European politics and Society Mr. Ihle guided his visitor through RIGDON’s production facilities demonstrating the individual process steps and the product portfolio. Mr. Ferber has been impressed by the round tour and the information and facts he received during his visit and promised to support our industry within his political means, especially in relation about the final decision of the EC regarding the implementation of final Anti-Dumping measures.  It has been agreed by all participants that an intensive contact and exchange will be continued in the future.
